What happens to your motor when you run your car out of oil?  How long will it run for and what not?

Well, does it happen right away or what?  The reason I ask is because the guy I'm taking to court is trying to say my car is broken because I ran it out of oil.  I know it's BS, so I'm trying to see what I can gather for court on what really happens when you try driving without oil.

I drove my cx on no oil for a long time. Its obviously not good. But it is still possible!I had a huge leak in my car... so i would run very low/out and still be driving....

ummm its not good i think you could go maybe a day or so it ends up f u c k i n g up the piston rods and valves and probably some other things you wouldnt be able to run for more then a day before something screwed up, i drove my car from layton to kaysville on my gst when my oil line off my turbo busted d a m n dsm and it did some damage.

But as far as for court i would call phase one or speed tech and have them write a statement of what would cause problem if you didnt run with no oil...that way if it doesnt match up you got him right there or maybe from as many shops as you can because there professionals and will know what to tell you for sure
