EVO "Prototype" X
« on: 01:29PM 01/11/2007 »
At the NAIAS Mitsubishi unveiled the new Lancer.  but alongside it was a near production Evo X.  The car its said to be about 98% complete so there will only be a couple things to change on it before it goes to production.  i found it interesting though that this website had some pictures of a "prototype x" that looked very similar to what the production evo will look like.  even more so then the one they showed at the NAIAS.  Enjoy:

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/mitsubushi-prototype-x/#gallery/mitsubishi/lancer/evo/12-prototype-x-static-fr-3-.jpg

This is what i think the Production evo will really look like.  maybe change the mirrors but thats it:

I don't think the suade dash and doors will make the cut ether.  i think the seats will be similar in shape but not the design of the coshens.  also yes you see what looks like an automatic transmission.  the evo x will have paddle shifting on it.  but don't worrie.  they will also be offering a 6 speed manual on it too.

Heres the actual concept prototype x they showed this week

And lastly here it is with the new Lancer

The Evo IX has been out now for over a year.  it was pretty much a evo XIII MR with a different front bumper.  nothing too big of a change.

the "automatic" isnt really an automatic.

from what i understand, mitsu is trying to do the same tranny idea as VW did. nowhere near an auto, but close to a manual

Like i said its not really a "automatic" cause the car has paddleshifting.  like F1 cars and alot of exotics.  and yes bevan the new IS-F

its just funny that ran doesnt like the transmission on the IS-F, but yet is ok with the EVO transmission, that is almost identical!

Love this car! If i got one it wouldn't be until the second year they came out... And thats just so they can fix all the flaws the first year will have with the new engine and new tranny.
