Off The Boost
« on: 08:27PM 08/28/2003 »
Ok, I wanted to make new topic since my last one got off the turbo subject a little bit. I just ordered a set of Exel Typhoon, 8 spoke wheels with Kumho 711 tires from Wheelmax for 600 bucks(only ones i could get my mom and dad to agree on) So i have 400-600 bucks left over(According to how nice my mom and dad be to be). I really like your suspension idea Kanzen. If you could hook me up with the Skunk 2 and Tokico setup or something similar for 400-500 bucks or under, I'll buy from you. And when I get a little more money, I'll buy the Skunk 2 manifold and maybe some other stuff too. I'm really wondering if I should get the intake manifold next or something else. I have an Injen cold-air,DC Header,MSD Wires, Iridium plugs, High-Flow Cat, Greddy Evo Exhaust,  and an AEM Cam Gear(Full Distributor Advance,5 degree timing advance) I'm wondering if I should go to more airflow(intake manifold and throttle body) or if I should go for something esle, like an ECU upgrade, new fuel system, underdrive pulleys, cam, or whatever. I don't really know which would give me the most power/torque so I'm counting on ya'll to lemme in the know.(Oh and keep the ideas under 650 bucks if possible cause I may not get another $1000 loan in the near future.)

If you have a honda do not replace the underdrive pulley -- they are harmonically balanced, in short by being harmonically balanced the engine doesn't rattle to pieces.  I am not sure of the cost for some head work, but with your current setup it would probably be a good route to go, but it will probably be more than $600.

Details on why not to use underdrive pulleys:

OK THEN! Thx for the tip. I understand now not to change the underdrive pulleys. What I still need to know is what should be the next upgrade I put on my car engine wise. I already have a detailed list of all the parts on my car and I need to know what i should get to get a little more power out of my car, or if I should go more looks. But i don't have enough money for a turbo kit or a supercharger, so plz don't mention them. Thx for the help.
