I just ordered a 40GB hard drive for just such a machine.  How much are you looking at spending?  This is a Sony Vaio PCG-NVR23 if you want to look up the numbers on it.  It has a 1.67 GHz AMD Athlon XP processor and I've upgraded the RAM to 512, but other than that it is pretty stock.  My hard drive just went kapoot on me, so I'm replacing that and throwing XP Pro, Office 2003, Photoshop CS2, Money 2006, and the entire Macromedia MX suite back on it.  I've got a few other progams I can probably put back on it while I'm at it, but I'll have to see what I've got.  It doesn't have an internal wireless card, but I do have a Lucent PCMCIA card that I've got plugged into it and that works fine.  I've got the plugin accessories (10 key, 3.5 floppy drive, subwoofer) still and I've even got a great Targus laptop bag.  I don't really have any reason to sell it other than I saw that a fellow ER dude needs a laptop.  Let me know what your interest level is and make an offer.

I've got a bunch of laptops at my house, but they all need some kind of work. One has to be plugged in at all times, the other needs a power supply, the other needs a charger. I'll find out specs for you, but it should be close to/better than what you are looking for.

You can get one of those Dell Inspirons for about $500. They are really good computers. You can build your own at the Dell web site.
