Im new to the forum but i wanted to know if anyone out there has swapped a jdm d15b (130 hp) into a eg civic. I have one in my 92 vx hatch and have had it in for about a year the only problem is it wont pass emissions. I am failing the NOx test by like 1500 points, basically i was hoping to see someones setup to make sure i have everythiing right. I know that NOx failure is from bad egr among other things, but my manifold does not have egr and i was wondering if usdm ex and si do? Thanks for any advice you can give on helping me, if i left necessary info out, which is very possible, please tell me

I don't know what to tell you, most of us ballers here step it up and swap B18's in. Or in the case of my old Civic, a K20. Yeah, I'm no help if you can't tell, but welcome to ER!

I swap JDM D15B's all the time.

There's TONS of them floating around. Whenever someone's stock motor goes bad, a usual choice for their mechanic is to swap a jdm motor (much cheaper) in it.

How's your catalytic converter? Did you do a leakdown test?

The biggest problem with honda motors are people who run catless for more than two weeks, when this occurs, the exhaust valves start to warp ever so slightly, it still runs like a dream cuz it's a honda, but it'll always have high CO and will never pass NOx emissions. I'm not saying this is your problem, but it's a possibility.

I am running a cat, but i have never had a leakdown test. The way i made my car pass emmisions was I put an intake manifold from my old vx motor so all the vacuum lines hooked up as well as my egr. The motor ran horribly but it passed I just was wondering if there was another way to make my car pass without having to put on a different manifold everytime. Does anyone know if there are any ex or si usdm manifolds that have egr equipped?? Thanks for your help
