2007 SRT-4
« on: 12:37AM 02/13/2006 »
Well the SRT-4 is going to return in 2007.  this time in the new Dodge Caliber.  It will be interesting to see how it performs against the original SRT-4.  The Caliber will have 300hp compared to the Neons 230hp. however the Caliber SRT-4 weighs in at 3,100 pounds.  I honestly like them.  i'd like to see one in person to really see and feel how it performs.

It's just too bad it's a wagon.  I think it looks cool, but it's going to kill it.  It was a stretch to tune a 4dr in the first place, but making it a wagon is just too familyman.

Yea it does look like a suv.  but it technically isn't.  it is a sport wagon.  Pretty much it sits in that new class made up of the Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix, Pt Cruiser, Chevrolet HHR and Mazda 3 five door.  Hopefully it will perform like they claim.  its got alot to live up to with the SRT-4 name on it.

Wha...?  What's wrong with tuning a 4 door?  MazdaSpeed 6, Legacy GT, WRX, WRX STi....  There are a few well tuned sedans out there.  The SRT-4 was a good effort for a cheap  racecar.  It's a little piece of s h i t, but it was a good effort.

I am just not big into 4dr cars for tuning.  Just seems like wasted space and weight.  I haven't heard of any srt's breaking down, just dumb a s s kids running them into trees.

That's true, but they are more practical daily drivers for us family guys.  I don't think I would enjoy getting a kid in and out of the back seat of an Integra or something.
