TwinTurbo 240Z
« on: 09:08PM 10/22/2005 »
My most favorite Z ever, period.

The engine is a TwinTurbo VH45DE.  It is stated to develop 740hp but unfortunately there has been no 1/4 mile times to back it up.  He claims the following for his 450Z

HP = 720 hp
Torque = 100 kgm
weight of car = 1080 kg
estimated 1/4 mile time = aproximately 10 sec
"goal drag time: 9 sec flat!!"

*disclamer*  This is OLD.  Like, Jesus old.  You may have seen it before, most likely you have.  But this car, is worth a re-post.

I give the mechanics props, but I've never been a fan of old school designs.

Not a big fan of the body, but god look at that engine.
When it comes to cars, you have three options: Fast, Cheap, and Reliable. And you can only pick two.

That's a sweet car...and nice setup.  I'd would have to think it would run in the 11's or better.  It's light and twin turbo'd.

Its got me thinking about selling the Z and buying a... Z.  But I'd have mine Silver with black old school 15" wheels.  VG30DETT swap for sure too.

Leave it to the japanese to section all their piping instead of using mandrels. Oh well, it comes out nicely if you want to show off your titanium charge pipes :P

I did see this car about a year ago, and was trying to remember where I had seen it a few days ago. This is probably one of the most gorgeous displays of metal fabrication and welding ever. I love the smooth design of the intercooler endtanks, charge piping and the intake plenums. They definately minimized any air flow losses.
