Well, looks like I took 2nd overall in the Summit Racing ET Series for 2005. With two races left I was 60 points ahead of Mo Rider. He managed to tie up the points in Round #2 on Friday. We had a "one-round run off" but luckily the computer screwed up because I was sleeping on the tree. The second (one-round run off) went better for both of us. We both had good R/T's (me .041, Mo .029) but Mo took the stripe by 0.0304 of a second ending my season just like that.
Even with losing the championship after being 60 points ahead, I still had an incredbile season. I spent the entire 14-race season in the Top 3. I won the Jet Car Spring Nationals in May. I took the #1 Qualifier at Race #10 with a .001 R/T. I went to four final rounds (including three in a row). I am tied for 1st overall for gross total points (1,746 points) for the last four seasons (60 races) combined. I am only the fourth motorcycle racer at RMR to cross 30 round wins in a season (I had 32 round wins). I beat NHRA Pro Stock Bike Racer Steve Johnson at the Snap On Tools Nitro Nationals. I've only lost in the first round 3 times in the last 19 Summit ET races dating back to July 23, 2004. I averaged 38 points per race which is basically 3rd round or better.
This is the end of my 9th straight year of racing, time to get ready for my 10th year! Bigger, better, faster?
So, I've gotta thank Damon for keeping me updated on stuff, Tyler for taking photos and letting me use them, and Dan for stopping by at the track several times.
