why do we have hoopties forum
« on: 02:25AM 06/03/2003 »
we should trade it for an events forum, so we can quickly reference the things other members are involved in, rather then the hoopties forum which has 4 posts, all about a broken pic link...

then this way if you have some car event goin on like "who is goin to rmr this weekend" or "canyon run saturday" you can post up details and such and it will actually get noticed.

Yea, that actually would help since general forum is now the flippin chatroom for about 12 of us friends! lol but the reason we have the hoopdie forum is because , you might be cruising around (actual experience by me) and you see a poopy green dodge shadow, with a 3 foot spoiler, tricked out civic body kit "custom" fitted to the d a m n thing, and you really want to show everyone how STUPID some people can be!!

Do we want an events forum or should it be kept along the same lines in the garage.  We have the hoopdy forum, because we had a lot on the old forum.  I have a lot that I have to load too.  Just haven't had the chance :-\

Damon, it would be an awsome idea to have a event forum, that way if you couldn't find anything to do then just look at the forum and hopefully something was going on. You should keep it locked and only readable though. That way it doesn't turn into another d a m n chatroom

keeping the threads locked is a good idea. I think an events forum would be great. It will be more organized if we have a dedicated forum for events only.

hahaha thats ghey, PITA and its up to the admins to be quick in adding stuff... every forum i've ever seen has open posting on the events forums... also how the hell are people supposed to ask questions about the events if every post is locked, or say they are coming, or anything like that... it just doesn't work because the organizers have no idea what kind of responce they are getting, and what issues people have. not to mention that the admins are busy people not just sitting around at home waiting for a PM...

look around on some other forums and see how it works if you don't believe me... i've been doin this forum thing for a looooooong time and i can tell you user interaction is an essential part of planning a smaller event. its like planning a party you dont' jsut say party here on a certain date a few days ahead, you first see what people are doing, and plan the party around major events...

I feel the same way about waiting around, but if it were to be an open thread, it will turn into yet another chat room. As I have seen EVERY thread on here seem to go WAY off the topic, i am positive it will happen to what is supposed to be an organized thread. It just wouldn't work right in here

well, thats what the mods are supposed to be doing, instead of banning me for setting technical myths straight. that is why most forums have a designated OFF TOPIC forum, but here everything is off topic and htere is hardly any car discusison at all. seems as tho this is more like the utah forum then a car forum

ok, not to be an a s s, but i've been saying that ever since I was on here! Now im sure damon explained to you why you were banned and not because you were "Just setting myths straight". It wasn't what you were trying to say it was what you did say. Now BACK TO THE TOPIC! If we could get the act together and keep things on topic then having an open events thread would be an AWSOME idea so I could at least finally find something to do on the weekends instead of drive around with ryan doin jack s h i t!

To really understand something you must blow it up, and  fully examine the tiny particles while they are still on fire.
