Check Engine light Flashing on and off?
« on: 01:19PM 12/22/2004 »
Tyler H. and I just got done putting a E management system from greddy, into my 91 Turbo MR2, Its all hooked up right we checked the wires like 20 times, anyways, my engine light flashes on and off, when pluged in, but the e management senses no fault and is running good. also engine seems fine at idle and while driving, but havent driven it much cause i dont want to blow my motor if it is somthing,  If you have any answeres to this Please let me now.

I would get the code from the ECU to find out what it is.

Same thing happened initially when my turbo was installed.  We had to go off the codes the diagnostics program returned.  Took some minor adjusting of petty things.  It's fairly common with turbos.  All is perfect now.  Hard to say unless you run the codes though.

Generally Flashing CEL codes are something the ECU feels is more important than the solid light codes.  Basically it is their attempt to get someone to pay attention to it more.

Quickest way to figure it out is to just go to AutoZone or Checker and have them plug it in.  It's free too.
