BOTH of my posts deleted for no reason... what the hell is this moderated by saddamn or something?

all i said was nice motor mods it needs some suspension to get rid of that wheel gap and some non-stock non-chrome wheels.

chrome is for lowriders, its too heavy for sports cars...

I do have a fully adjustable suspension. 3/4" lowered in front and 1.2" lower in the rear. Any lower than that and it really does even make it out of my driveway. It about as radical as a dare drive on the road.  There is only about 3.5" from the lowest part of the body to the ground. This is a long car in comparision to a porsche, making mid body scrapes a little more common. It I was truely going to race it, it would be about another inch lower.  Possibly you aren't familiar with Vettes', because the only car that these wheels come stock on a Mallett Corvettes(maybe you can't tell from the small pic). You'll remember them from the Motor Trend Super Tuner Challenge. I also have the Mallett/Penske racing shocks with coil-overs. You are absolutely right, these wheels are not the greatest choice for racing. This car is not a "race" car. It is merely a superstreet car. if I was really going to race it I would have on some HRE's.

Before you judge, wait till the rest of the mods are listed.... there are quite a few.

I hope to meet a lot of eliterides members at the carshow this weekend.

I saw it last night when we were at the auto-X, met Ryan.  Really cool guy.  And that is one pissed off vette' too  ;D  Props for driving last night too, but you should have stayed, there were plenty of runs once all the crappy cars left about 11:00.  ;D

yup, it has a suspension setup, why not?  He didn't do to bad, just needed to let her free.  I know he would have been faster if he pushed her just a little.

yeah ryan i realized those weren't the stock wheels when i saw your car in person... d a m n small pictures hahahahaha

HRE's aren't a bad choice for racing, a little heavy tho perhaps a centerlocking bbs 3 piece with magnesium centers... ;)

vette is a long car, it also has that d a m n plastic splitter / air dam thing that hangs down in the front which probably drags everywhere... i would have loved to ride in your car out on the auto-x and see how that setup is working... maybe next time.

i eventually got jer'd neon to do a 38.12 :-p you should have stayed and seen what that vette would do once you got familiarized with the coarse.

the ride hight of your vette looks very similar to a stock z06, thats what threw me i guess i can't really remember what the stance of a regular one sits like from the factory...

ryan this one goes out to you... i was perusing on the kenisis wheels site checkin out stuff i can't afford... and i stumbled across this black vette... omg it is EVIL. if it had some tinted windows, it would look like something darth maul would drive...

anyways even if its not your style (i wouldn't drive it either too drug dealer lookin) its definantly worth a laugh...

****start: technical babble

btw for curious people, those wheels are not powder coated or regular painted...  both of those finishes are relatively easy to damage, so the ultimate is to hard anodize them, which is what these are... not only does it look uh, well thats up to opionion, but it also strenghtens the metal without adding weight... ahh yes anodizing is bad a s s...  :gunfire:

Oh man, the track was blast. I knew half way down the track the first time, that I was sold. This being my first time at any autocross event, I think I learned a lot. I am amatuer at best. Once I popped off the traction control, it was much more linear down the curves. The best time I ever got down to was 40.10~. The car rocks, I just need to hone the skills.

The Z06 in that pic has at least the back end lowered. Having been in the corvette club, I have seen more than my fair share of C5's. I believe that the ride height is actually the same on Z06's as the other. The ride height can be adjusted with the stock suspension to about 1" lower than stock. For about $0. Besides, I'm sure that someone that spend 5K on wheels would spent 3 hours lowering the car. I don't know if my coil-overs are starting to slip but the rear end looks lower than the front end. I think I might lower the front for more rake and better stance.

Awesome weekend guys, good to meet those of you who introduced yourselves. This has been a crazy weekend. 1 run down the drag lanes. A few hours in the auto-x, meet in peeps off elite, 2f2f, all day car show, cruzin' the vard, 5 chicks in the vette for pics, and a canyon run. Truely it doesn't get better than this.

Dark Dragon/Pete, man alive, consider yourselves some good drivers. You can walk all over a modded vette. Congrats guys.  I talked to my buddy (Doug) with a lowered '02 Z06. He wants to come out to the auto-x too. So you can pretty well plan on having us both at the next event. Any one that wants to come along for a ride is welcome, serious.

glad to hear it... try pulling your ABS fuse too, it really helps your ability to rotate the car into the turns, usually once the abs kicks in you just get ig understeer... you have to carefully modulate the brakes though without it, just locking em up and sliding into the turn isn't the idea either, but its definantly something worth messing with.

plus driving without ABS will teach you more about properlly modulating the brakes. the only time abs is nice is in emergency stops that are unplaned and you don't have time to properlly modulate them. the rest of the time, with practice you can beat the computer. I can get close enough to locking up that when abs does kick in the car noticebly "speeds up".

btw i had no idea z06 had stock adjustable suspension... thats loco. your springs are probably sagging a bit...

my idea of a sweet looking vette is the speedvision cup ones... but odviously thats too low for street so gotta compromise.

Unless this car has a twin, I got to see it in the lane next to me at RMR while we staged.

I didn't actually see it again after the light went green, but the timeslip said it was pretty fast.  Not fast enough to catch me, but fast all the same.  ;D

1994 Eclipse GSX.

13.17 on that run.  Running on 91 Octane, some sort of all season tires that came with the car when I bought it, full interior with functioning AC.  Not your  typical track prepped import.

13.13 @ 107 is still my best. I ran a couple of 13.15's on 7-20-03.  The only real problem i have with keeping it to a 13.1X is just the launch. Almost always 2.1 60'. Not the fastest thing out there. But compared to a stock C5 auto, with a 2.73 rear end that runs a 14.5X's. I am quite happy. I will be the first to admit that I have lost to a few DSMs and an integra. Yeah, I think on that run I pull a disgruntling 13.25~. Props on the win, Good lookin ride too. DSMs are just too fast.  LoL, See ya out there.

We might not be the fastest cars out there, but you could probably count on one hand the number of street cars that are faster than us at the midnights.  Likelyhood of running into faster on the street is slim to none.  Not bad at all.  8)

Close races are the best, most of the time I miss them though,   :( the AWD shoots me out of the hole and I never even see the other car until after the race even if they were close.
